Head (2017-2021) and Deputy Head (2011-2017) of the Postgraduate Program in Communication at UNESP. Scientific Director of Compós - National Association of Postgraduate Programs in Communication (2023-2025). Full member of the Editorial-Academic Board of Editora Unesp (2017-2021). Full member of the Institutional Scientific Initiation Committee at Unesp. Postdoctoral degree from the Open University, United Kingdom (Visiting Research Fellow, 2006-2007) and from UFSCar (Federal University of São Carlos), where he was a Prodoc/CAPES fellow (2008-2009) in the Postgraduate Program in Science, Technology and Society. Visiting researcher at Loughborough University, University of Warwick, King's College London, Open University (United Kingdom), TU Dortmund (Germany) and Université de Lorraine (France). Coordinator of the project Pandemic Communication in Times of Populism: Building Resilient Media and Ensuring Effective Pandemic Communication in Divided Societies, supported by the Trans-Atlantic Platform: Recovery, Renewal and Resilience in a Post-Pandemic World and Fapesp (2022-2024). Coordinator of the Communication and democracy project: media accountability, public service media, internet access and the right to information in Germany and Brazil, funded by the Probral Program - Research Cooperation Projects between Brazil and Germany - CAPES/DAAD (2020-2023 ). Coordinator or supervisor of more than 30 scholarships and research grants granted by FAPESP, including the research projects Communication and memory in water governance and adaptation to climate change, which generated intense interface with society through the available science popularization resource at http://www.faac.unesp.br/altotiete (2018-2020), and Narratives of water (NoW): a cross-cultural exploration of digital hydro-citizenship in the UK and Brazil, from the Sprint Program (Sao Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration), with University of Warwick, United Kingdom (2015-2017). Coordinator of the research project Electronic government portals, public consultations and the contribution of information and communication to the public understanding of science and technology and the expansion of citizenship, financed by Notice MCT/CNPq/MEC/CAPES 02/2010 (2010- 2012). Vice-president of Socicom - Brazilian Federation of Scientific and Academic Communication Associations (2020-2022). Vice-president (2019-2021) and member of the Scientific Council (2017-2019) of SBPJor - Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers. He works mainly with the following themes: sociology of communication; theory and ethics of journalism; public communication; communication and politics; health communication; popularization of science.
