Paulo Herman

Associate Professor Level 3 of the Department of Gastroenterology at FMUSP; Full Professor (Discipline of Digestive System Surgery - Department of Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, USP); holds a doctorate in Medicine (Digestive System Surgery) from the University of São Paulo (defended in 1997) and Free Teaching in Digestive System Surgery (defended in 2007). He is currently Director of the Liver Surgery Service at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Gastroenterological Surgery, working mainly in the area of: liver, bile duct and pancreas surgery. Member of the Board of the Department of Gastroenterology at FMUSP. He is the Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator in the Discipline of Digestive System Surgery at FMUSP and the representative of the Department of Gastroenterology at the FMUSP Undergraduate Committee. Participated in more than 100 Judging Committees for Qualification Exams, Masters, Doctorates, Free Teaching and Competitions. He has more than 230 articles published in National and International Medical Journals, with more than 300 works presented at National and International Medical Congresses. Author of more than 80 chapters in national and international books. He gave more than 570 lectures in medical courses and events. Supervised 14 scientific initiation students; 11 Master's and 10 Doctoral students. He currently supervises 3 scientific initiation students, 4 masters and 4 doctorates. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
