Tadeu Chiarelli is a Brazilian Art Historian, curator and art critic. He teaches Art History at Escola de Comunicações e Artes Universidade de São Paulo (ECA USP), since 1983. Graduated in Arts Education (1979), Master (1989) and PhD (1996) from the University of São Paulo. He became Titular Professor (2010) and Senior Professor at the same University. Chiarelli was the general director of Pinacoteca de São Paulo from April 2015 to April 2017. He is also the former director of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC-USP) 2010-2014 and chief curator of Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM-SP) 1996-2000. Among many published books, the main ones are: ?Um Jeca nos Vernissages. A crítica de arte de Monteiro Lobato? (1995) and ?Pintura não é só beleza, a crítica de arte de Mário de Andrade? (2007). His main curatorship are: ?Novecento Sudamericano: Relações Artísticas entre Itália, Argentina, Brasil e Uruguai? (Palazzo Reale, Milão, Itália and Pinacoteca de São Paulo, 2003); "Segall Realista" (Centro Cultural FIESP/Galeria de Arte do SESI, SP; Museu Oscar Niemeyer, Curitiba, PR; Instituto Moreira Salles, RJ, 2008) and ?Metrópole: Experiência Paulistana?, (Pinacoteca de São Paulo, 2017).
