Graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of São Carlos (1988), Master in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (1991) and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering - Imperial College - University of London (1996). He was on sabbatical for 12 months (2013/2014) at Saint Mary's Hospital (Imperial College - London), where he developed research in biomedical systems. He is currently an MS-3 professor at the University of São Paulo, in the city of São Carlos. Has experience in Computer Science, focusing on Image Processing, acting on the following subjects: segmentation, feature extraction, and pattern recognition. Currently, he has guided and developed works in image segmentation and numerical methods for mesh generation and extraction of important points. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
