Abstract

This work deals with SrTiO3-delta single crystals annealed under vacuum. The electrical resistivity and the carrier density were measured at room temperature by the van der Pauw method using an Arduino-based device for automatic contact switching integrated to the Quantum Design PPMS. The data acquired from the annealed samples were plotted along with a data compilation from several previous reports. The analyses confirm a linear scaling between the electrical resistivity and the Hall coefficient which attends for a wide doping window. Hence, the room temperature carrier density can be estimated from a simple electrical resistivity measurement. A brief discussion about the thermodynamics of the vacuum annealing process is reported. The entalphy is estimatted as 3.6(4) eV for the SrTiO3 reduction process. (AU)
