Indirect and monojet constraints on scalar leptoquarks

Abstract

We obtain constraints on first- and second-generation scalar leptoquarks using the available data on dilepton (Drell-Yan) and monojet searches at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Assuming that the leptoquark interactions respect the Standard Model gauge symmetries as well as lepton and baryon numbers, we show that the study of dilepton production enlarges the exclusion region on the mass and coupling plane with respect to the pair production searches for first-generation leptoquarks. Moreover, the monojet channel leads to a larger excluded parameter region for moderate to large values of the leptoquark Yukawa coupling than the presently available experimental results. (AU)
