Abstract

Ru(II)-Pheox complexes are known catalysts for carbene insertion reactions. Herein we teach them a new trick: how to perform ortho C-H arylation processes! Our operationally simple protocol tolerates structurally diverse directing groups and both aryl iodides and diaryliodonium salts as transfer groups. (AU)
