Abstract

In this work, the project and design of a printed slotted substrate integrated waveguide traveling wave antenna are presented. The antenna is characterized by an omnidirectional pattern in azimuth cut and a cosecant squared pattern in elevation cut. This pattern synthesis is particularly advantageous due to its applicability in 5G mm-wave systems, establishing a well-defined signal equipotential region. Consequently, this enhances the coverage area in diverse locations like stadiums, exhibition centers, arenas, or parks. Additionally, the proposed methodology facilitates the straightforward implementation of new designs tailored to various installation sites. (AU)
