Papiri gen. nov., a new genus of huntsman spiders (Araneae: Sparassidae: Sparianthinae) from Brazil

Abstract

The new genus Papiri gen. nov. is described to include the type species, Papiri caete sp. nov. (male, female), from the state of Par & aacute; and from Paraiba to northern Santa Catarina, P. cacau sp. nov. (male, female) from Pernambuco and Bahia, P. cabruca sp. nov. (male, female), from Bahia and P. tacomare sp. nov. (male, female) from Paraiba to southern Bahia, all in Brazil. All species are illustrated and photographed, a distribution map and an identification key are provided. (AU)
