| Abstract | |
We present a numerical study of 64 signals amplified by a two-pump fiber optical parametric amplifier. The amplifier was alternatively simulated with two fibers with different values of nonlinear coefficient but the same length. The gain remained constant in both cases. The performance of the amplifier is improved when it is designed with the fiber of lower nonlinear coefficient. Also, it was observed that the performance of the amplifier is strongly dependent on channel separation. (c) 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
