Abstract

The aim of this proposal is to establish a long-lasting research collaboration between the Department of Production Engineering, University of Sao Paulo (PRO/USP) with the research team led by Prof. Diego Vazquez-Brust, from the University of Portsmouth within the field of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and circular economy. Prof. Vazquez-Brust and his team have been working with socially inclusive Green Growth, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Sustainability, how these practices have been coordinated by companies and how can they contribute to new business models. From Brazilian team, Prof. Marly Monteiro de Carvalho and her team have been developing projects and publishing about sustainability, product service systems, new business models and circular economy. The disciplinary complementary and aligned profile of both research teams suggest a promising research partnership that started with the pos-doctoral program of Prof. Roberta Souza Piao (PRO/USP) under supervision of Prof. Vazquez-Brust at University of London at Royal Holloway, linked with the Centre for Research into Sustainability (CRIS) where Prof Vazquez-Brust was the director. Prof. Monteiro de Carvalho and two Ph.D. candidates also visited CRIS in 2017. Thus, this proposal aims to foster this partnership and promote interdisciplinary research between Prof. Vazquez-Brust now at the University of Portsmouth, and Profs Monteiro de Carvalho and Souza Piao (POLI/USP).
