Abstract

The present project aims to develop an assessment, training and monitoring system of athletes´ cognitive skills, which will extend findings collected during the execution of the project from Phase I funded by PIPE.Thus, Virtual Reality (VR) methods developed in Phase I will be implemented in Android platforms. In addition, elements designed to fit the product into the market will be incorporated: a clear and intuitive platform to monitor athlete´s performance (to technical committee) and methods that bring benefits by approaching psychological aspects continuously required in sports practice: post-error recovery and team cohesion. Therefore, technological challenges regarding computational processing will be addressed to provide system efficiency and users´ experience and usability studies. Scientific challenges will also be addressed: the improvement of the gamification intervention method which enhances performance of both individual and group cognitive aspects.We expect to improve athletes´ performance with an appealing, scientifically designed system, which aims to monitor and develop brain processes, from sensorial to psychological aspects. This product will not only be pioneer in Brazil, but will also incorporate elements that will distinguish it from major competitors in global market. (AU)
