Abstract

The project main goal is to analyze the interrelation of present laws, regulations and policies related to environmental protection, energy and climate change, its application and implementation at the domestic level and, in addition, the international climate governance mechanisms in other to understand with are the main incentives and barriers for the fulfillment of Brazilian iNDC and also if the implementation of the iNDC create environmental and social impacts. The analysis will focus at energy and adaptation actions pledged by the country. The project proposes a qualitative approach to understand the complexity of the subject and intends to clarify the referred relationship and the factors that impair or stimulate the performance of the iNDC, and possibly a conclusion of which rules should be altered or have its implementation options reinforced, changed or replicated. The development of the research aims to contribute to the debates about the climate governance design and the improvement of climate and environmental problems. (AU)
