Abstract

The Federal Constitution of 1988 proclaimed that education is "the right of everyone and the duty of the State and of the family, it will be promoted and encouraged with the collaboration of society, aiming at the full development of the person, his preparation for the exercise of citizenship and his qualification for work "(Article 205, CF / 88), establishing the right to education as a condition of citizenship and State obligation. This context prompted us to ask: what is the reverberation of the right to education in scientific production in the field of education after the 1988 Federal Constitution? The objective of this research project is to identify and understand the trajectory, developments and trends of the right to education, embodied in the scientific production in Brazil from 1988 to 2018, in the area of knowledge of education in doctoral theses, dissertations and articles of newspapers. It is believed, considering the limits of the research to be developed, that the elaboration of the State of the Art on the theme of the right to education will contribute to the advancement of knowledge construction in the educational field.
