Abstract

The use of alcohol results in the death of 3 million people per year, and Brazil spends 6.5% of Gross Domestic Product annually with consequences of this use. About one in five people who illegal drugs has criteria for diagnosing addiction. Despite the knowledge that the use of alcohol and other drugs is caused and reinforced by mental, psychological and social status, we currently have few tools of this scope for care and care planning. The "Global Assessment of Individual Needs" is a family of evidence-based instruments in which a rapid screening instrument can be used in primary care, supporting brief interventions, the rapid instrument in the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and other Drugs, supporting motivational interviews , and the complete can be used in the CAPS and in the hospital, for long-term treatment and monitoring, giving greater attention to withdrawal symptoms, the need for detoxification, physical illnesses and social aspects. The survey of needs is extremely important for the detection of problems, prevention, allocation of the individual and treatment planning. In this way, the intention is to apply the instruments of the AGNI family and verify the individual needs of users in the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and other drugs from a municipality in the interior of São Paulo.
