Abstract

The current evidence ecosystem in Brazil is not mapped and may not be meeting the decision-making needs for public policies in the country. A suitable tool for the context of the Brazilian evidence production is necessary to evaluate this ecosystem. The objectives of this study will be to transculturally adapt the tool Supporting routine use of evidence during the policy-making process: the WHO Checklist for policy-makers, developed by EVIPNet, and use it to evaluate institutionalization of evidence by the Technology Assessment Centers (NATS) and Evidence Centers (NEv) of São Paulo. In the first phase of the study, the tool will be cross-culturally adapted in a process that includes the steps of translation, back-translation, semantic evaluation, and content validation. In the second phase, all NATS and NEv in the state of São Paulo will be mapped and invited to participate in the study. Then, the cross-culturally adapted tool will be applied through face-to-face interviews. Therefore, this project hopes to provide a Brazilian tool for the situational diagnosis of the institutionalization of the use of evidence in the country, in addition to identifying critical components for this institutionalization. The project will be the first initiative to build an integrated evidence ecosystem in Brazil. (AU)
