Identification of fungi and their metabolites isolated from cheese and foods.

Abstract

Dr Frisvad's visit to Brazil has the following objectives: i) To take part in the research projects at the ITAL Food Quality and Science Center, in which he is a collaborator: ii) Hold meetings with project teams, visits to food producers cheeses in order to help in improving the quality and safety of artisanal cheese production; (iii) Meeting with Dr Frisvad in person or online with the scientific community in the area of Fungi and Mycotoxins. Meetings will be held while he is in Brazil, clarifying doubts and bringing novelties in the area of fungal taxonomy. Dr Frisvad is one of the greatest mycologists and one of the greatest authorities in the area of fungal metabolites. His work on fungal metabolites has innovated traditional taxonomy, as new species of fungi are described every day and Dr Frisvad has actively collaborated so that there is global harmonization in this area.
