Technologies 4.0 and Professional Education: Action Research in the High Schools and HIEs

Abstract

This research aims to develop a framework to guide the training of teachers and students from Basic Education and HIEs to work in Industry 4.0 (I4.0). Educate students to work in a scenario of digital transformation challenges EB. The literature on Technology, Innovation and Professional Education in the Basic (Theme F) and Higher Education indicate difficulties associated with the implementation of I4.0 in emerging economies, including culture and student learning related to Robotics and Programming (Currículo Paulista), related to Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics. The team members from the partnership between UNESP and the Education Board of Guaratinguetá allow addressing development of students and teachers in Public Basic Education - EBP (Topic B) and the teaching and learning process at EPB (Topic A). Investigating how these thematics are adjusting to I4.0 is essential for the regional industry to act efficiently, HR development, Workplace Learning, and improvement of employability. The use of Action Research is expected through interviews and a questionnaire (survey) on skills and factors that impact the implementation of I4.0. It is noteworthy that this research is aligned with Quality Education (ODS-4); o Decent work and economic growth (SDG-8); and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG-9). This research proposal seeks sustainable educational practices; formulation of public policies that mitigate social problems; guidance of professional curricula affected by I4.0. (AU)
