Abstract
This document presents the fundamental outline of a thematic team project for the collection of linguistic material accompanied by studies for the identification, analysis and tabulation of traces of archaic language preserved in localities situated along the trails of the Paulista expeditionaries of the late 17th century, with repercussions throughout the 18th century. Geographically the research covers the States of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Mato Grosso and its coordination is out of São Paulo. The objective of the study is to verify the preservation of linguistic layers of archaic Portuguese in Brazil and to provide scholars of the language with a scientifically prepared corpus for their study.
