Abstract

In this project microfluidic devices for electrophoresis will be manufactured on glass and/or polymeric substrates. A simple microfabrication technique, involving laser-printing toner (as structural material) depositition, and conventional ones, such as lithography will be used. Electrochemical detection (contactless conductometric and amperometric) will be implemented and evaluated in the microdevices. Electrokinetic and hydrodynamic sample injection systems will be developed in order to attain analysis with good precision and accuracy. Finally, methods for electrophoresis separation in the microdevices will be developed for determination of several compounds in samples of food, biological fluids, and others. (AU)
