Abstract

The frequent transit of moldings and plaster models between doctor's office and the laboratory of prothesis represents an enormous obstacle for an efficient control of cross infection. This direct physical interaction between such environments, makes with that they are necessary specific material procedures and that act as barriers against the contamination. Thinking about this, in this project it will be considered to after analyze the antimicrobial effectiveness and the alterations in the physical and mechanical properties of a gypsum plaster the incorporation of two disinfecting agents (digluconate of clorhexidine and chlorhidrate of clorhexidine). For the analysis of the antimicrobiana effectiveness, tests against Escherichia coli will be carried through (NTCC 36R 861), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC25923), Bacillus subtilis and Candida albicans (ATCC 1023). Mechanical tests for the analysis of the setting time, details reproduction, expansion of setting time and compression resistance will be realized, already the physical alterations will be analyzed through an electronic microscopy. For this, samples in plaster will be confectioned type IV (Fugi Rock - GC America) with the incorporation of digluconate of clorhexidine 2.0% and chlorhidrate of clorhexidine 2,0% to its normal composition.
