Abstract

The titanium has various good characteristics (biocomaptibility, high corrosion resistance, low density and mechanical properties). Although, has intense environment reactivity results a reaction layer (alfa-case)during the casting process. To reduce the reaction layer has been recommended special investments MgO/Al2O3 based. The purpose of this study is to compare a national spinel-based investment, developed to titanium casting, with 2 commercial Germany investments. The study will evaluate: the compression strength, setting and thermal expansion, mould filling, internal porosity, surface roughness, reaction layer and the misfit of implant components titanium casted. The aim of the work is to study the viability of the brazilian investment without another similar in Brazil to low costs prothesis frameworks titanium casted. (AU)
