Abstract

In the pregnancy, magnesium and calcium deficiency have been associated to complications such as pre-eclamptic, eclamptic, gestational diabetes, renal insufficiency, hyperparathyroidism, osteoporosis and malnutrition, therefore it has greater frequency of children pre-term, low weight and small for the gestational age. In such a way, it is intended to develop a transversal study, with the objective to evaluate the nutricional state in magnesium and calcium of pregnant women in the last gestational period. The pregnant women will be selected in the University Hospital of the University of São Paulo. The nutritional state in magnesium and calcium of the pregnant women will be evaluated by the alimentary consumption, and by biochemical analyses of magnesium in plasma, in erythrocyte, in urinary and calcium by the bone resorption.
