Abstract

This project is part of the research developed in Agricultural Buildings Department at Unicamp inserted in the environmental study of broiler chicken. The objectives of this research project is to design and built an environmental preference test chamber that enables the user to manipulate the environmental conditions and monitor behavior and welfare of birds, and also validate the preference chamber. Two experiments to assess the behavior preference responses (related to the welfare) and performance of broiler chickens from different environmental conditions, for futher decision making. The main proposal of this work is to generate correlations between environmental variables to be studied, determining a new base of knowledge in Brazil linking the responses of performance and welfare of broiler chickens to the environment in which they raized.
