Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of apical enlargement in apical foramen anatomy, and the sealing ability after obturation. Human molars will be select. After establishing a root length of 11mm, images will be record of apical foramen through epoxy resin replicas analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Subsequently, the samples will be divided into three groups according to the work length: group-I, instrumentation 1 mm short of the major foramen, the group-II, instrumentation in the limit of the apical foramen, and group-III, instrumentation 1 mm beyond the foramen. In all groups will be used rotary instrumentation system (Pro Taper Universal). After instrumentation the apical foramen will be re-evaluated by SEM, to examine possible anatomical changes in foramen. After filling with AH Plus cement by using the System B device, the specimens will be randomly assigned to evaluate by apical microleakage test inoculation with Enterococcus faecalis and by dye penetration used a clearing procedures. Data were statistically analyzed using a significance level of ± 0.05. (AU)
