Abstract

The research project intends to explore the views of sheltered children on their biological or original families. The defined field is one shelter institution based on the city of Guarulhos/São Paulo. Those children who keep contact with their families and also visit them will be selected as subjects of research. The study will be conducted based on an interdisciplinary corpus. The ethnographical method will be used, combined with other data produced with children, such as the use of photography, video recording sessions, drawings and conversation sessions. The data will be analyzed in two stages: a) writing of portraits of children and theirs families; b) analysis of emergent categories from data production with children. The study intends to present findings which contribute to public policies capable to support families and qualify the shelter institutions. Also, it searches to present some findings in order to help the quality of education in nurseries, pre schools and primary schools. (AU)
