Abstract
Over the last years, important advances were achieved in understanding bone cells and the interactions with local and systemic factors which regulate the activity of these cells. Estrogen deficiency that affects women during menopause is the most common cause of osteoporosis. Several pharmacologists have been studied as possible therapic agents for osteoporosis and the raloxifene mimetizes the benefic effects of estrogen without stimulating tissues like breast and endometry. Besides that, resistant exercises have shown to be a great ally for the increase of bone mineral density, through bone cells recruiting. This way, this study has the objective of analyzing the effect of resistant training and of raloxifene under bone structure of Wistar shans and ovariectomized rats at the age of 18 months, utilizing the expression of RANK, OPG, RANKL, Runx-2, OSTERIX and TRAP; besides verifying the bone tissue quality through the analyses of bone densitometry, mechanic bioassay and bone microtomography.
