Abstract

This experiment will be developed in the Cluster of APTA in the Hill - SP, with the aim of evaluating the impact of nutritional strategies during the production cycle (growing and finishing) on the biological efficiency of beef cattle Nellore. The trial period will be from July 2011 to October 2012, this being divided into three phases. Phases I and II are related to animal rearing, being held in pasture grass Marandu and phase III is related to the termination of the animals, performed in two ways: grazing or confinement. At the beginning and end of each phase will be carried out the slaughter of animals representative of the treatments in order to study the components of animal weight gain and body changes promoted. Will be used 129 weaned cattle, bulls, Nellore, with ± 8 months of age, these 96 will be used to evaluate animal performance throughout the experimental period and 33 will be culled during the experiment. The study will be evaluated both qualitative and quantitative aspects of fodder, some gain per animal and per hectare yield, the gain and carcass characteristics, as well as the effect of supplementation on a stage on other stages in the life of the animal. Data will be analyzed as a randomized design in factorial through the statistical package SAS 8.0 (1999). (AU)
