Abstract

The aim is to study the presence of Italian immigrants in São Paulo persecuted by political police of the state itself and by its correspondents in the country of origin during the second quarter of the twentieth century. It is trying to identify connections between the period in which these immigrants lived in their home country before immigrating with the period in Brazil, after immigration. The hypothesis of which part is that the search for ways to set these trajectories and ideological understanding of their specific roles in political activities rolled out here in the country, identified as radical, can provide information for understanding the beginnings of a thought "left "unattended in Brazil. The project will try to work with the concepts of "intellectual autonomy", "left thinking, "and others, trying to correlate them with the comprehension of the features (s) culture (s) policy (s) for the period.
