Abstract

The increasing use of water by various sectors of consumption produces a large amount of sewage. It is known that irrigated agriculture is the sector with higher water consumption, a fact that drives research aimed at increasing efficiency of irrigation, is related to structure, adequacy of systems and irrigation management, integrated management and rational use of water and irrigation water of poor quality. In this context the use of treated sewage effluent (TSE) from domestic sewage, can be a viable socially and economically. However, as only limited information on the culture of sugar cane on the effects of the use of TSE, especially in subsurface irrigation systems, will be particularly important to evaluate its effect for sustainability of production. Thus, assume that "The use of irrigation at different depths of operation may influence the development and production of sugar cane." (AU)
