Effect of true barbatimão (Stryphnodendron adstringens Mart.) about intestinal morphology and eimeriosis control in broilers

Abstract

One of the biggest health problems affecting the industrial production of broilers is eimeriosis flu becoming an essential effective control. In most cases this control is accomplished with the addition of coccidiostats feed, but has been observed that this practice intensive and often used incorrectly has caused some problems of resistance and deposition of residues in meat is necessary to search for new alternatives to control of avian eimeriosis. Therefore the objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the peels true barbatimão (Stryphnodendron adstringens Mart.) on the intestinal morphology of broilers and therapeutic activity in combat or control avian eimeriosis. Will be used a total of 630 broiler chicks of one day will be randomly assigned to three treatments. The treatments correspond to a negative control (without addition of the anticoccidial feed), a positive control (with the addition of anticoccicidiano in the feed) and treatment with herbal barbatimão from peels, and each treatment consisted of six repetitions. These birds are challenged with strains containing three different species of Eimeria. Clinical parameters will be evaluated by determining the score of lesions in the cecum of birds, morphometric analysis of the small intestine (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and mortality will also be recorded. As for determining the biological indices will be evaluated feed intake, feed conversion and weight gain. It is expected from the results of the evaluation of the effect of barbatimão true, a new alternative for the control of avian eimeriosis and consequently improving the productivity of these birds.
