Abstract

In recent years blood transfusion has been increasingly used in veterinary medicine. Therefore, it is necessary to understand and develop techniques to measure the quality and viability of the blood collected until the moment of transfusion. This present study aims to evaluate ten bags of whole blood, packed red blood cells and fresh plasma from healthy dogs collected and stored under refrigeration (whole blood, packed red blood cells) or freeze (fresh frozen plasma) , containing CPDA-1 for 49 days, it will be valued at eight times with an interval of seven days between each time. At each moment the viability of red cells and coagulation factors will be carefully evaluated by the laboratory tests concerning the assessment of red blood cells and plasma coagulation factors including the measurement of free hemoglobin, packed cell volume, hemoglobin, erythrocyte, 2,3 - Diphosphoglycerate, determination of erythrocyte indices, TTPA, TP and plasma fibrinogen. The results will be statistically analyzed and compared. (AU)
