Abstract

The search for "clean" technologies to obtain products of industrial interest, involving the use of alternative raw materials, spending less energy and with a reduced effluent production, has been driven by environmental issues and also due to their economic advantages. In this context, research about the use of lignocellulosic wastes in bioprocesses stands out, particularly the cultivation of microorganisms producing cellulases, hemicellulases and ligninases. These enzymes have potential for various biotechnological applications, especially in recent years for the disintegration and hydrolysis of lignocellulosic materials to obtain fermentable sugars that can be converted into second-generation ethanol. Thus, the prospection of microorganisms producing these enzymes is necessary not only to obtain biocatalysts that have characteristics suitable for the industrial processes to which they are intended, but also for knowledge and exploration of microbial biodiversity. Thus, this proposal involves the isolation of filamentous fungi producing thermostable cellulolytic enzymes, the selection and identification of the fungus that stood out in the production of the enzymes and finally, the evaluation of the enzymatic extract effectiveness in the saccharification of sugarcane bagasse (raw and pretreated with microwaves and glycerol).
