Abstract

After the initial studies on the beginning of work at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (1953-1957), it was observed, as a gap, the ideological process, political and legal framework that led to its legal creation (1951). This is an important temporal crop of study for research on Brazilian Nursing History, for this reason the study aims to analyze the symbolic effect of the creation of University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (EERP-USP), through the analysis of legal and administrative documents, present at the University of São Paulo, who portrays the administrative context, political and ideological EERP's creation, identify the symbolic field agents and their positions of power to fight in this field, as well as the strategies undertaken in order to be seen and be believed in the press in order to announce the creation of USP-EERP in society. This is a historical study, approaching from the perspective of micro-history, because there is a reduction of the scale of observation of the researcher, without losing the context of external links, which relates the micro. Under these considerations, this research permits from the trajectory of the installation of an institution, to infer the process of immersion of Nursing in Ribeirão Preto city, the established power relations and strategies for order to be seen and be believed socially. The temporal limitation refers to the year 1951. The framework refers to December 26, 1951, the date of enactment of the State Law 1467, which organized the administrative structure of the Faculty of Medicine at Ribeirão Preto-USP- which created the EERP-USP attached to it in article number 13. In relation to journalistic text, it will be used for analysis the matrix structure by Fernando Porto (2007), and concepts on the analysis of the journalistic diagramming Arnold (1965) and Silva (1985). The papers will be selected from among those available in the Public Archives and History of Ribeirão Preto. The procedures performed here are already included in the design of an previous project from the coordinator of this project, approved by the Ethics Committee of the EERP-USP, Protocol No. 0970/2008, called Origins of Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto under the Optical Glete of Alcantara, which in its first stage, the focus of the story EERP-USP during the period 1953 to 1961, but he already had permission to file handling and use of documents for the period 1951 to 1961. A review of the documents will be guided by the notions of Bardin (1977), in relation to the documentary analysis and the results are discussed in light of the notions of symbolic struggle, field, field of journalism and cultural capital of the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, on the theory the social world.
