Abstract

Sunscreens are used to prevent effects of ultraviolet radiation such as burns, photoaging, carcinoma, melanoma and induction of systemic immunosuppression. Currently it has become trend in the cosmetic market, the decrease in concentration of chemical filters in sunscreen formulations. This fact is explained by the emergence of adverse reactions caused by topical formulations containing such components. Natural products are important sources of bioactive molecules. For these reasons, this project aims to obtain microparticles or nanoparticles of gelatin containing rutin and/or quercetin perform the physical, physico-chemical and functional caracterization and develop bioactive sunscreens with gelatin particles containing flavonoid. The gelatin systems containing flavonoid will be obtained by desolvation technique in two steps. The characterization of the particles will be carried out through the following analysis: distribution of particle size, zeta potential, rate of association and antiradical activity. The formulations will be evaluated in relation to the organoleptic characteristics, the pH value, the apparent viscosity and the photoprotection efficacy obtained in vitro. The results will present perspectives of application in the strategic areas of photoprotection (AU)
