Abstract

Our researcher group has a project in progress, approved by FAPESP (2012/12022-6), directed to the evaluation of micellar aqueous two-phase systems extraction of a recombinant antibody scFv anti- LDL (main identified atherosclerosis autoantigen) produced by the genetically modified yeast Pichia Pastoris. These systems show several advantages like fast phases separation, easy scale-up and low cost. The cooperation with the group of Dra. Nerli, with experience in protein purification from different biological resources by integrative methodologies as aqueous two-phase systems and affinity mechanisms, will be of great importance to the incorporation of novel biomolecules separation strategies in addition to the formation of human resources in the bioseparative thematics.
