Abstract
One of the most useful and fascinating results obtained in string theory is the discovery of the relation between some field theories (generalizations of the theories describing for example electromagnetism or nuclear forces) and gravity. This relation is the core of the so-called "AdS/CFT correspondence", one of most revolutionary breakthroughs in theoretical physics in the last decades. The aim of this proposal is to keep working on the AdS/CFT correspondence, maintaining a focus both on formal aspects, such as integrability and supersymmetry in N = 4 SYM and ABJM theories, and on more applied aspects, related to the study of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasmas via holography.
