Ecopolitics: planetary governmentality, new institutionalizations and resistances in the society of control

Abstract

This thematic research project is related to the genealogical analysis of power. Its primary objective is to analyze the shift from biopolitics - control over the life of the population - in the disciplinary society, to ecopolitics-control over the life of the planet - in the society of control, with special interest in Brazil. We are currently facing a way to exercise control that is less interested in the utility and docility of the body than it is interested in its intelligence; which surpasses determined boundaries, provokes events in continuous spaces, and participates in the production and in the decision in a programmatic manner. The ongoing institutionalization presents itself as an aspect of the society of control in which democratic practices prevail. In this sense, the research is shifted from the relation power-knowledge to government-truth and takes the researcher out of the clear relation surface-depth, based on gravity, to the same relation in the sidereal space, where surfaces vary according to a perspective. The discussion on the notion of ecopolitics will encompass cartographic fluxes of singular and intermittent resistances from the perspective of its emergences, captures and lines of escape. The research will be undertaken by singular movements contiguous to fluxes of multiplicities among rights, security, environment, penalizations in open air. The research will articulate two movements of fluxes: mapping of unfinished institutionalizations and cartography of singular and intermittent resistances. (AU)
