Analysis of circulation of the UPER member pre and post-surgery in women with breast cancer, submitted to sentinel node biopsy with or without axillary lymphadenectomy

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the arterial and venous circulation of the ipsilateral upper limb of women before and after they underwent surgery after axillary lymphadenectomy for breast cancer. For both, will be assessed 60 volunteers, divided into three groups aged between 40 and 60 years old, divided into three equal groups, determined by the sample calculation: Group 1 (G1): women who are subjected to axillary dissection as part of treatment of breast cancer, group 2 (G2): voluntary undergoing sentinel node biopsy, and group 3 (G3): voluntary not undergo surgery due to treatment for breast cancer as controls. The profile of blood flow, including speed, direction will be assessed by continuous wave Doppler. The data within and between groups will be evaluated by ANOVA for repeated measures F (± d 0.05). The results obtained in this study aimed to intervene in support therapies morbidities of axillary dissection. (AU)
