Abstract

Aiming at attending the increased demand of transference data and information for the development of scientific research, the Institute of Botany, in the last 10 years, has been investing in its technological park, through the installation of a network in all buildings and interconnecting them through optical fibers, together with modernization of the room Datacenter, including acquisition of servers, nobreaks, switches, firewall, climate control system and acquisition of software licenses. Currently the Institute needs to safely store its data and images of scientific collections with the aim of cataloging and providing access to researchers, internships and students, joined to the Post-Graduation Course (PPG) in Plant Biodiversity and Environment of IBt, and also to visitors who can also be benefited with this research facilities. Created in 2002, and categorized as level 5 by CAPES / MEC since 2010, PPG's IBt also serves the growing number of students at master and doctoral degrees. Since 2002 the program has trained more than 230 masters and PhDs and currently has 114 masters and doctorate students developing their projects. Thus, this project also aims to implement a management system to attend the academic Graduate Program. (AU)
