Abstract

With the development of the Process: 2009/54946-7 Research Assistance Program - Infrastructure 6 - M9 - Biological Collections, under the title: Supporting infrastructure renewal of the tropical culture collection of the foundation André Tosello (CCT / FAT), the CCT / FAT got a good allocation of resources, which have been faithfully applied. CCT - Tropical Culture Collection is the largest in Latin America, listed under number 885 at WDCM / World Data Collection Wfcc Microorganisms, World Federation Culture Collection. It is the only Latin American Culture Collection, with on-line catalog featuring all your lines. The process of characterization of the strains, the CCT is performed by morphological analysis and biochemical tests, with the help of quick identification kits. The current difficulty in using the means of taxonomic characterization due to the absence of literature accompanying the updates and more of the references used do not provide current editions with new species and reclassification of nomenclature. With the deployment of Molecular Biology in CCT, which is being finalized thanks to the project developed, it will have greater control of the quality of strains that generate new data to be incorporated into the bank and through the equipment procured for photo documentation will create atlas (available on line). This project presents the Plan of Implementation of the Technical Reserve. Will be purchased and installed cabinets and / or offices keyed to guard the accessories of the equipment purchased for the reorganization of reagentário and screens installations inputs will be implemented to improve the lay out and the use of existing spaces. The Foundation will perform the renovation of a room of about 80 m2 deploying it as an emergency exit from the building, serving municipal ordinances and this room will also be readequated for use of CCT, expanding its current physical space by approximately 25%.
