Annual plan for allocating the allowance for costs of institutional research infrastructure - UNIFESP 2013

Abstract

The current administration team of UNIFESP invest in a new organizational model aiming at greater efficiency and transparency of processes. The Planning sector was remodeled in 2013 with the objective of defining targets and integrate the different sectors of the University. The Graduate Studies and Research team has valued the articulation of researchers and prioritized the feasibility of measures needed to achieve innovative research and high-level infrastructure conditions. In its expansion, only professors with a PhD were admitted, most of them with postgraduate education, and previous experience in coordinating research projects. There is a large number of researchers from different campuses and departments working on interdisciplinary themes, including beyond health - which already have a long tradition of successful projects and recognized for their importance, the new areas included in the expansion process, especially humanities, exact sciences, biological and environmental sciences . Given this complex scenario, the use of the Institutional Technical Reserve is a technical challenge and the Politics of UNIFESP aiming its optimization. By decision of the Board of Graduate Studies and Research (CPGPq ) 30% will be employed to support initiatives of the Dean of Postgraduate graduate Studies and Research; 45 % for the competitive demand - open to all researchers and 25% for projects submitted by researchers affiliated to departments whose projects have contributed to the generation of resource RTI in 2012. With these resources it will be possible to acquire small and medium- sized equipment and to fix/improve facilities. The decision on which projects would be approved in the competitive demand branch was taken in partnership supported the Coordination of Research Dean of Graduate Studies and Research with the Technical Research Committee, with the participation of researchers from diverse fields of research, UNIFESP, indicated by Cameras Graduate of the various campuses. The priority criteria were: characterization of materials or services requested as essential to the infrastructure of laboratories and public areas , as well as for the operation of equipment ; benefit shared by multiple user environments ; inability / difficulty approving the type of material / service requested in regular projects . These funds will also be used for developing services of an office of Innovation to foster partnerships with business area. Some consumables, essential to the completion of the maintenance and modernization services will also be acquired to support several research groups. With regard to 30% under the responsibility of direct decision of the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research priority has been given to corrective maintenance of equipment or laboratories; support to the Office of Support for Researchers and supporting scientific dissemination, among which Integrator Researchers Forum (PIF), which creates spaces for discussion, planning the use of funds and partnerships in research. The funds will also be used to support the publishing of journals (including services for typesetting, editing, printing and publishing in an electronic version) aiming at expanding the dissemination of research, among which ENTRETESES a magazine designed to promote research UNIFESP, national and internationally. Thus, the division of resources was performed to cover the various needs of researchers of UNIFESP and improve our research infrastructure following a plan with goals for the short, medium and long term.
