Abstract

The physics of exotic nuclei corresponds currently the frontier of nuclear physics in the low energies domain. The present project involves scattering and nuclear reactions measurements induced by light exotic projectiles such as 6He, 8Li and others on targets of different masses. The secondary beams of light exotic nuclei are produced by the Ribras (Radioactive Ion Beams in Brazil) system installed in the Open Laboratory of Nuclear Physics, Institute of Physics, USP. This project has been developed since the Ribras installation in 2004 and has produced several articles and theses. At present several research groups from São Paulo and other places use the system Ribras and this project aims to maintain the liquid helium provision necessary to the operation of the equipment, as well as the acquisition of isotopes for targets and electronics.
