Abstract

Hydrodynamics is a discipline that deals with fluid flow, i.e., the natural science of fluid in motion. It has has a wide range of applications in different areas. The present proposal is aiming at two two main topics. Firstly, we plan to further study the accuracy, stability and efficiency of the "smoothed particle hydrodynamics" algorithm, and its implementation in the SPheRIO code. The second part of the project is to use the hydrodynamical code SPheRIO to investigate various subjects in relativistic heavy ion collisions, such as particle production, collective flow, particle correlations, etc. Besides, we also look into the possibility to apply hydrodynamical model in other area such as in the study of cosmology and of traffic flow.
