Study of effectiveness of manual lymphatic drainage in hydro electrolytic mobilization and in the variability heart rate in women at reproductive and perimenopause stages compared to the same parameters in men

Abstract

The hydric equilibrium is maintained by the balance between the osmolarity and the extracellular and intracellular fluids. The glomerular filtration and renal tubular reabsorption of sodium are exerted by action of sexual steroids, sympathetic nervous system-adrenal and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. The lymphatic system is responsible by equilibrium of the corporal fluid. The manual lymphatic drainage is used for drain the excesses liquids of the interstitial. Its influences on the autonomic nervous system and on the hydroelectrolytic mobilization, still needs to be investigated. By this mean, the aim this project is to assays the effect of manual lymphatic drainage on the hydroelectolytic mobilization and on the variability heart rate in women at reproductive and climacteric stages and in the men. The study will be accomplished in women that they do use or not the oral contraceptives (OC), in the perimenopause without used hormonal therapy and in men. Sixty volunteers healthy and sedentary, aged 18 to 30 years (women in reproductive stage and men) and 40 to 50 years (women in perimenopause) will be studied and divided on 4 groups: I with women without use of OC, II women that use OC, III womem on perimenopause and IV men. All they will undergo manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). The urine collect will be realized on two days: the control day, and of MLD day. Four urine samples will be collected, in times with intervals of 1 hour, and four saliva collects in the two days, and it will be evaluated the urinary flux, composition of electrolytes in urine, presence of atrial natriuretic peptide in urine, urinary glycerol, quantity of salivar cortisol, beyond of the heart rate variability.
