Abstract

The discomfort occasioned by the dentin hypersensitivity continues to lead patients to search for more effective treatment. There are several treatment options and offer immediate solutions, however, do not survive over time. Chemical Engineering applies thin films of silane-based to prevent corrosion metal. Chemical reactions that occur between the metal and silane are very similar to than occurring to with tooth structure. An "experimental hybrid (HGO)" was formulated by the Department of Chemical Engineering - USP with the proposal to be applied on human dentin form a film adhered to the dentin substrate, waterproof, colorless and resistant and could promote the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity. This in vitro study aims to evaluate and compare the resistance and permanence of HGO (GH) and GGluma (Heraeus Kulzer-Gluma Desensitizer) after being submitted to erosive and abrasive challenge. The waterproofing (sealing of dentinal tubules) and resistance of the films applied on the dentin in experimental groups: GH e GGluma will be verified by testing sequences hydraulic conductance after the challenges. The values expressed in% of sealing will be compared utilizing Statistical Analysis. Maintenance, stability and quality of the film applied on the dentin will be evaluated qualitatively employing scanning electron microscopy. Analyzes will be performed at 3 different times: after application of the film, after erosive challenge and after erosive and abrasive challenge. (AU)
