Abstract

The lack of interest in becoming a teacher in Brazil has led to a crisis in undergraduate teacher's training courses. In view of that, and considering the government's incentive policy for valuing and improving the teaching profession by means of PIBID (Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência - Institutional Scholarship for Teaching Initiation Program), we intend to conduct an investigation on the educational and professional pathways of former participants of such program, started at UMESP in August, 2012 . Our objective is to analyze whether the investment and actions by PIBID/UMESP have been effective for former participants of the program (2012-2014), mainly for those who decided to be public school teachers in São Paulo. The present project supplements and is part of GEPEAD ( Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Educação a Distância - Group of Studies and Research on Distance Learning - officially registered at the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil/CNPq), in the context of Graduate Studies in Education, at the Universidade Metodista de São Paulo.
