Abstract

The Stroke (CVA) is a sudden neurological condition, which mostly result from acerebral ischemia. Responsible for a large number of deaths and disability worldwide,it is of paramount importance to implement prevention strategies and identify newtherapies. Although they have been described some benefits of using omega-3 (É3)and low intensity laser therapy (LLLT) in stroke, no study has found that repercussionsin the thalamus. The overall objective of the study is to analyze the effects ofsupplementation with É3 and the role of LLLT on the thalamus in an experimentalmodel of stroke Ischemic (AVCI). The stroke will be induced by the method ofphotothrombosis. Will be used 72 male Wistar rats (230 ± 20g) were randomly dividedinto 6 experimental groups with 12 animals, as follows: control group (C), ControlCremophor (CC), Group AVC Omega-3 Prophylactic (AVCP) AVC group Omega-3Therapeutic (AVCT), Omega-3 Prophylactic and Therapeutic group (AVCPT) and AVCgroup Laser Therapy (AVCL). a dose of 85mg / kg / day of fish oil will be administered((PROEPA®) via gavage, and the application of LLLT transcranial will be performed by alaser diode equipment (Photothera) with a wavelength of 808 ± 5nm , 7,5mW powerdensity / cm2. It will be performed histological analysis, immunohistochemistry,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), electrophysiological study and recordingof cortical and cardiac electrical activity (EEG and ECG).
