Abstract

The projects goal is to investigate and understand the relationship strategies of museum's educational departments with its audience, in order to improve the communication and education process undertaken by these institutions and their consequent social impact. The importance of this research is sustained on the fact that, despite the museum being a relevant institutions for scientific and cultural education of citizens lifelong, in Brazil, most of them do not have effective strategies for carrying out public studies and/or systematize information about their visitors - an essential condition for the development of significant educational processes. Furthermore, many museums do not have the right staff for a professionalized museum-audience relationship management, including scheduling, communication log and post-visit actions. To overcome these challenges, adopting an educational research methodology in museums and working closely with educational departments of different types of museums, this investigation intends to raise data to test the viability of the development of an online platform that can be used by small, medium and large institutions, in order to assist them with the museum-audience communication. Thereby, this research should define the most appropriate and efficient parameters for the development of this platform, as well as propose solutions to the challenges presented by the national museum context.
