A systems approach to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets to improve cardiac repair and regeneration following myocardial infarction

Abstract

The objective of this exchange proposal is to stimulate collaboration between a biomedical engineer Dr. Saucerman and a physiologist Dr. Krieger, both of which are developing therapies based on cardiac regeneration. Dr. Saucerman is well prepared to identify novel therapeutic targets using computational analysis of Dr. Krieger cardiac regeneration experiments. Likewise, Dr. Krieger is well prepared to validate targets predicted by Dr. Saucerman computational analyses using in vivo animal models of cardiac regeneration. (AU)
